“My work is about an organic drive towards a resonant composition – space, color, texture – that’s what moves me.”
— Rick Begneaud
{ About }
{ American Poetic - Abstract Artist }
Begneaud toured as a chef for the Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan, during the mid eighties. Traveling extensively, he appropriated, not only the tastes, but textiles and small objects from villages, throughout the world, in order to encapsulate his own experiences, at each location. Begneaud’s self-developed technique was influenced through a close relationship with his late uncle, Artist Robert Rauschenberg. Rauschenberg’s creative gene is present in Begneaud’s work, which is built upon powerful emotion and the artist’s past.
